Besan Poodas

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup gram flour
  • 1 cup water (approx.)
  • ¼ tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Topping (Mix together)
  • ¼ cup finely chopped French beans
  • ½ onions- chopped finely
  • ½ tomato deseeded and chopped finely
  • 2 tbsp green coriander
  • 1 green chili- deseeded and chopped finely
  • ¼ tsp salt and ¼ tsp chaat masala
  Directions:
  1. Mix all ingredients of the batter together in the bowl. Beat well to make a batterof pouring consistency.
  2. Heat a non stick pan (not too hot). Smear 1 tsp oil in the centre.
  3. Remove from fire and pour 1 ½ karchhis of batter (1/2 of the batter) in the centre. Spread by tilting the pan.
  4. Return to fire on low heat. Sprinkle the topping mixture. Press with a potato masher.
  5. Turn over when the underside is done and crisp. Cook the other side for a minute.
  6. Serve immediately.
