  • Make sure that your diet is high in fiber as it is good for the digestive system and it lowers your body’s cholesterol levels. Vegetables and fruits are rich in fiber; this is why they are included in a healthy and balanced diet.
  • Lower your intake of salt. Sodium is known to increase the risks of problems related to blood pressure. This does not mean that you avoid only adding more salt, but also avoid salty processed foods.
  • We all know that fats are classified into either good fats or bad fats. Saturated fats are not healthy as they increase your chances of developing heart problems and high blood pressure, while on the other hand fats derived from fish, which is high in Omega 3 actually protects your heart. Saturated fats are commonly found in dairy food, coconut oil and meats.
  • Shun alcoholic beverages but if that is not possible then definitely limit the intake. It is best to avoid drinking alcohol completely, and instead drink as much water as possible. Water is great for your skin and body because of its cleansing power. But if that is not possible you should look at limiting the consumption of alcohol.
