Guajarati rava (semolina)dhokla


  • Suji or rava:200 gm or 2 small bowls
  • Curd:-200 gm or 2 small bowls
  • Peas:-1/2 small bowl
  • Water:-100 gm or 1 small bowl
  • Baking Soda:-3/4 small spoon
  • Cauliflower:-1/2 small bowl
  • Ginger:-1,1/2 piece
  • Salt to taste
  For tempering:
  • Mustard seed:-1 teaspoon
  • Water:1/2 bowl
  • Green chili:-2-3
  • Salt:to taste
  • Sugar:1 teaspoon
  • Lemon:1 small size
  • Coriander:1tablespoon
  • Oil
  1. Beat curd first and then add suji in it.
  2. Then mix all vegetables (finely chopped) and stir well with spoon.
  3. Leave this mixture for 2 hours.
  4. Take net dhokla stand and make it greasy with oil.
  5. Now mix edible soda in the mixture and spread it on dhokla stand.
  6. Take another big utensil, fill it with 2 small bowl of water and put it on burner.
  7. Now place dhokla stand in big utensil and cover it.
  8. Cook on a high flame for 20 minutes.
  9. Then check by inserting knife, if it is not sticking with knife tip, then it is ready.
  10. Turn off heat.
  11. Cut dhokla in to pieces.
  12. Heat oil in a small pan.
  13. Add mustard seeds.
  14. Then add green chili and fry if till it gets light brown.
  15. Add water, salt and sugar, when they boil turn off the burner.
  16. Then mix lemon water in this mixture.
  17. Put this on each piece of dhokla with a spoon.
  18. Garnish with coriander
  19. Serve with green chutney.
