2 tsp vanilla custard powder dissolved in ¼ cup water

Directions:
Wash peaches well divide in to two halves by running a knife all around at the centre. Twist the two sides in opposite directions and then pull the two parts apart to divide the peach into two equal halves. Remove the seeds carefully.
To microwave the peaches, place them in the flat dish. Sprinkle sugar with a tsp on all the peaches. Add the cinnamon and cloves.
Pour water and lemon juice on the peaches.
Keep micro high for 5-6 minutes or till the peaches turns very soft, depending upon the ripeness of the fruit. Cool and remove the peel. The conventional way of stewing peaches is to boil 2 cups
water with cinnamon, cloves and 6 tsp sugar and lemon juice. Cover and cook the peaches in it for another3-4 minute still they turn soft but yet keep holding on to their shape. Remove the cloves and cinnamon. Leave the peaches in the syrup till no longer hot.
Peel the peaches and arrange the stewed peaches in a clean serving dish which Is not too high, leaving behind the sugar syrup.
Strain the sugar syrup, stirring continuously, till thick and translucent. Check sugar and add more if required.
Pour the ready sauce over the arranged peaches in the dish. Decorate the peaches by placing a fresh cherry or a grape in the centre of each piece. Serve chilled
